Aurelija Vanagaitė has been studying at the M. K. Čiurlionis School of Arts for the fifth year in the class of dr. Gabrielė Kondrotaitė. Every year the young pianist participates in at least several national and international piano competitions and festivals, where she wins laureate prizes and other awards. Aurelija's most recent achievements include 3rd prize at the XIII Riga International Competition for Young Pianists, and 3rd prize at the Competition "J. S. BACH in Vilnius". Other achievements: II Czech Music Competition "Czech Paraphrases" - 1st prize; VII Lithuanian Music and Art Schools' Piano Competition "Young Virtuosi" - grand prix; VII National Competition for Young Pianists "...from Baroque to Romanticism" - 1st prize and a diploma for the best performance of a work from the Romantic era; IX International Maurycy Moszkowski Competition "Per aspera ad astra" - 2nd prize, etc. Aurelija's favourite music to perform is Romantic music, Sergei Rachmaninov, Sergei Prokofiev and Robert Schumann pieces she likes the most, but she also enjoys Classical and Impressionist composers. In her spare time, Aurelija enjoys painting and handicrafts. Aurelija's biggest musical dream is to perform with an orchestra.
